Welcome to the NRECA Geospatial Data Hub
The NRECA Geospatial Data Hub is designed exclusively for NRECA International staff- a central, secure, and collaborative digital space where project information,n geospatial data, engineering models, mapbooks, reports, and learning materials come together under one unified system.
This platform is more than a repository; it’s a knowledge-sharing ecosystem that strengthens collaboration, promotes transparency, and supports ongoing electrification efforts across the world.
What You’ll Find Inside
Once logged in, users gain access to a structured environment containing comprehensive project information and associated resources, including:
Projects
Geospatial Data & Layers- Backup of Geopackage, Postgres database and Routing rules.
Cost/Financial analysis(Excel Model): Cost calculation or Financial analysis in Electrification planning.
Reports & Documentation — Detailed project reports, feasibility studies and design documentations etc.
Training Reports & Resources : Capacity-building materials, training outcomes, and practice data.
Maps and Graphics — Key visualizations, maps, charts or photo associate with the project work either field or inhouse.
Each item is organized by Continent, Country, Year and Project, ensuring staff can easily locate the information they need for planning, reporting, or analysis.
Data Exchange, Collaboration and Continuous Updates
The NRECA Geo-Spatial Data Hub is a secure workspace designed to support smooth communication and data sharing between NRECA staff and clients.
Short-Term Project Exchange
During active projects, teams often struggle with scattered email threads, outdated attachments, and difficulty tracking the latest version of files. This platform replaces the limitations of email-based communication by offering a single, secure location for all input data, review materials, and final outputs.
Long-Term Access
Clients also receive extended access to final datasets, reports, and project documentation, ensuring reliable reference and continuity long after the project ends.
Single Destination for All Web-Visualizations
The NRECA Data Hub provides a dedicated page where all web-based visualizations from various projects are organized and linked in one central location. This makes it easy to find the tools you need and ensures access to the most up-to-date, validated versions at all times.
Open-Source Resources in One Place
The NRECA Data Hub includes a dedicated page featuring key open-source software and data links commonly used in NRECA project work. By gathering these resources in one place, staff can quickly access the tools and datasets they need for saving time, reducing dependency, and supporting a more efficient, self-sufficient workflow.
Data Security and Access Control
The Data Hub prioritizes strong data protection through a secure, login-based authentication system that controls access to both project information and shared datasets.
1. Website and Information Access
Administrator – Full access to manage, edit, and update the website and blog
NRECA Staff – Access to all project information displayed on the site (excluding project datasets stored in SharePoint)
Clients– Access to assigned project information on the site (excluding datasets stored in SharePoint)
2. Data Access (SharePoint)
Administrator – Full access to all SharePoint project data, including upload and edit permissions
Member (NRECA) – Access to specific project data with upload permissions
Member (Client) – Read-only access to assigned project data
3. Public Access (Without Login)
Only the homepage, NRECA visualization platform page, and project list are publicly viewable. All project details and data pages require authentication
Knowledge Sharing through the Blog Section
The Hub includes an internal Blog where NRECA staff can share project highlights, technical innovations, lessons learned, and organization-wide updates. It fosters a culture of shared learning and ensures important information reaches all staff across regions.
The platform also supports social media sharing, allowing published blogs to be shared directly on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and more.
The NRECA Geospatial Data Hub is your digital workspace- a place where data, people, and knowledge connect. Whether you’re analyzing electrification progress in Africa, reviewing data from Asia, or uploading training outcomes from Latin America, the Hub ensures that everyone in NRECA International has the same, secure access to trusted information.
Together, we can make electrification data not only accessible but actionable- supporting better planning, stronger partnerships, and sustainable energy access worldwide.
